Park Hyatt Milan Review

Experience luxury at Park Hyatt Milan with top amenities, exceptional service, and a prime location near Milan’s iconic attractions.

Park Hyatt Milan

Located steps from the Duomo and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Park Hyatt Milan epitomizes quiet elegance in the heart of Italy’s fashion capital. With its marble interiors, refined service, and unbeatable location, it remains one of Hyatt’s crown jewels in Europe.

We stayed here during the Italian Grand Prix weekend and were impressed by how the hotel balanced calm luxury with the city’s electric energy. Between watching Ferrari on the podium and exploring Milan’s cafés and boutiques, Park Hyatt Milan became the perfect retreat amid the excitement. Want to turn a race weekend into a longer European holiday? Our European F1 trip report shows how we linked Amsterdam, Florence, Milan, and Zurich around the Dutch and Italian Grand Prix, with hotel choices and travel planning for the stops in between.

Booking & Cost

We booked our stay using Hyatt points, redeeming 45,000 points per night for a Standard King Room. Cash rates during the race weekend hovered around $2,300 per night, giving us a redemption value of roughly 5.1 cents per point.

A week before arrival, the hotel reached out to confirm our arrival time and preferences, which set a thoughtful tone from the start. Despite the high occupancy, the front desk accommodated an early check-in and greeted us with personalized service and local recommendations for race events.

Location & Check-In

The hotel’s location is one of its greatest strengths. It sits beside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and within minutes of the Duomo, Sforzesco Castle, and Milan’s designer shopping streets. The Duomo metro stop is only a short walk away, providing easy access to the rest of the city.

Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and escorted to our room by the concierge, who took time to highlight amenities and nearby attractions. The marble-lined lobby carries the same elegance as the surrounding architecture, and a glass skylight over the breakfast area mirrors the Galleria’s grandeur.

Room | Standard King Room

Our Standard King Room was the best we have ever stayed in. It seamlessly combined grand marble elements with warm wood and soft fabrics. Upon entering, we were greeted with a special Formula 1 cookie and a handwritten card on the console table, which also featured a coffee maker, a selection of tea, and a mini-fridge. Separate sets of drinking glasses, coffee mugs, and espresso glasses highlighted the Italian love for coffee. A small plant added extra warmth to the room.

The king bed was incredibly comfortable, complemented by plush pillows and soft sheets. A sleek fabric footboard bench added a touch of elegance. Large arched windows brought in ample sunlight, with adjustable blinds for convenience. We kept the curtains open most of our stay since we were on a high floor but appreciated the blackout curtains for sleep.

The room had plenty of space. A small round coffee table with an ottoman chair was in the corner. The functional bedside tables offered reading lamps, charging docks, drawers, and storage space underneath. One table had a notepad with a hotel-branded pen, which wrote wonderfully, and you can request a new one as a souvenir upon checkout.

Bathroom

The bathroom, nearly the size of the room, featured a wide sink and dressing area, a standalone bathtub, a walk-in shower, and a toilet closet with a bidet. A vertical closet was conveniently located in the bathroom. With various lighting fixtures and a window with curtain settings, the bathroom was both luxurious and practical. High-end toiletries, bathrobes, and slippers were provided, with slippers coming in different sizes for added comfort.

Breakfast

Free daily breakfast was included for us as Hyatt Globalists. The breakfast dining room was incredible with the open skylight dome and luxurious seating. The buffet offered both Western and Eastern food options, and as part of the globalist breakfast, guests could order one complimentary item from the menu, such as an omelet or a waffle. At the center of the dining room, there was an additional pastry station. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast each morning, trying a variety of options. The latte art on the coffee, featuring a Formula 1 car, added a delightful touch.

Amenities & Extras

The main amenities offered by the hotel are the gym and spa, both located on the basement floor. Although small, the gym was fully equipped, including a bench press rack, which is a rare find in hotel gyms. An open jacuzzi was available for all guests, and each gender’s locker room had a sauna. Refreshments, snacks, and shaving kits were provided in the gym and spa areas.

Daily turndown service is offered. In addition to tidying up the room, the housekeepers left small snacks and refilled bottled water. Bottled water is complimentary and can be requested at any time. The housekeeper delivered our water in a very nice paper bag that we also took home as a souvenir.

Activities

The prime location is the biggest draw of Park Hyatt Milan. Many famous landmarks are within walking distance. In addition to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and the Duomo, the hotel is close to the Sforzesco Castle, Starbucks Roastery Reserve, and the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, which houses Raphael’s famous cartoon of The School of Athens. The nearby high-end shopping district, with its designer boutiques and charming cafes, offers endless opportunities for exploration and window shopping. For those interested in art, the nearby museums and galleries provide a rich cultural experience.

During the race weekend, Ferrari events were held at nearby stores, adding to the excitement. The hotel’s central location made it easy to partake in the vibrant atmosphere and numerous activities happening around the city.
